There is a village in a valley with woods surrounding it all the way around. It is a good village full of good people. Generations have come and gone in this village.

But no one goes beyond the woods.

Those We Don’t Speak Of live in the woods and there is a truce in place. No one goes into their woods and they do not cross the borders of the village.

The three rules all children in the village are taught:

i. Let the bad color not be seen. It attracts them.
ii. Never enter the woods. That is where they wait.
iii. Heed the warning bell. For they are coming.

(The only "twist" here is that the monsters in the woods are real.)


❖ That’s the premise of the meme. Your character is now living in the village.
❖ They have either always been in this village or perhaps they were a traveler from another town and made it through the woods without being killed by Those We Don’t Speak Of.
❖ Go about daily life in the village, your character trying to make a good life for themselves. Farm, join the watch, become a teacher, take up a craft, fall in love, start a family. Or question why no one else has attempted to travel through the woods.
❖ Or perhaps mysterious attacks are happening in the village and you have grown suspicious.
❖ Just know the monsters in the woods are indeed real. And there is a creator of the monsters, as well. A witch some say. Or a demon. Will you be the one to discover which?
❖ Do not leave your top level blank. Describe what your character’s life and standing in the village is like.
